Pip!!
Tiniowien

Pip, your comments about Harry don't annoy me so much as the jab at my grammar. Yes, I wrote "I seen." It was a typo and I meant to insert a 'have' in between those words. So I came across as an idiot, but I am a teenage girl on summer vacation and my brain is fried anyway. So deal with it.
And to be honest, I don't think that Harry Potter is stellar writing or anything. I am a well read person, and could name a hundred more books that are more interesting and engaging. But it is a wonderful story. And in case you haven't read any children's books lately, it excellent in comparison to anything else out there. When the only believable teen romance out there starts with the two meeting as they send owl post, it says something about children's literature.
I started reading Harry Potter two years before I ever came across Lord of the Rings, and while I was still reading 3rd grade paperbacks. Harry Potter blew me away and introduced me to another world of better literature. I feel loyalty to that which I loved first, don't you? Even as my perception of it changes. Most people on this forum are probably older and wiser than I am. But loyalty is what a lot of people admire about Lord of the Rings. So excuse me if I use those values elsewhere.
