How Old is Legolas?
G

I've just watched The Two Towers again (probably about six or seven times now and I've lost count for Fellowship) and I'm amazed at the way Aragorn and Gimli constantly seem to talk down to Legolas. Surely the Elf is far older than either the Man or Dwarf and as the son of King Tharanduil he is surely as learned or wise as either of them (certainly Gimli). Does anyone know exactly how old Legolas is at the time of the War of the Ring or whether or not he was involved in the Battle of Five Armies?
