Legolas Age
Tiniowien
G, The movie makers set Legolas at 2,921 (approximately, I'm not entirely positive.) Tolkien set him at approximately 500 years old, quite young for an Elf. Either way, he wasn't at Battle of Five Armies, and is basically inexperienced. As far as I know his only accomplishments were those set down in the Trilogy.
I didn't think they talked down to him that much. Although Gimli calls him 'Laddie' which I think is cute, as Legolas certainly looks young and wasn't acting all that wise at the time anyway. (Orlando Bloom is 26.)
He's an Elf, but they view him as more of an equal and a friend. They've been through too much together to not be familiar. Tolkien always seemed very unnatural at that, especially in the Appendices when Aragorn is on his deathbed talking to Arwen, his queen and wife who he just spent his life with, being extremely formal and almost heartless.
Update on poll: Make that 11 times for Fellowship. And I am saving up for the extended edition, which would be SO COOL TO SEE and other certain non-rabid non-tolkien fans in the house think is a waste of money.
Being an insane fan is hard when you are all by yourself. Good thing I have the forum.
