Legolas' Age
Mr. Underhill

Hello all. In response to G's article on Legolas' Age, I believe the book never explicitly states it. However, rumor going around the movie business (as found in the LOTR Movie Companion) is that Legolas is the spry age of 2931 years old. Of course that's young for an elf ;-). I really don't believe that any member of the Fellowship, (Gimli excluded) ever puts down the elf or treats him like a child. Maybe it's just somthing I never noticed, can others back me up on this?

Also, as book fans can remember, in TTT, Legolas states that he is much older than any member of the Three Hunters, while they are in Fangorn Forest.

"It (Fangorn) is old, very old, So old that almost I feel young again, as I have not felt since I journeyed with you children. It is old and full of memory."

I really would have liked to see this scene included in TTT simply to baffle the people who haven't read the books. :-)

Hobbitly yours,

Mr. Bag... um. Underhill
