July 14, 2003 Two Rings to Rule Them All I truly think that to make a Ring of Power to counter Gorthaur would be, if even possible, highly unadvisable. If a Ring were to be made that would equal or be above the might of Sauron, it would require the combined strength and Art of all the Wise. Now, who of the White Council would wield this Ring? Certainly not Elrond, or even Galadriel; I doubt they have sufficient strength. Absolutely not Mithrandir, for Curunír would not had stood for it. The only one who would be fit to use this Ring would be the Council's head: Saruman. Now we that for a long time Saruman searched himself for the One, lusting to possess it and set himself up in Sauron's place. Saruman surely would use this Ring, forged of good intent, to throw down Sauron, but in the Black One's place would arise a foe of equal or even greater strength. For though this Ring may not have the same power to corrupt or tempt the average person, one who desired use it for conquest and domination still would. Oh, and about the whole Orc thing: The Orcs are merely a mockery and a ruination of Elves, and are less in might. The good forces of Middle-earth already have Elves on their side, which are stronger than goblins, so why would they breed them??
