Our Own Books
A Buck for Brandy
A quote from a letter that JRR Tolkien wrote to Milton Waldman, 1951, as published before the Silmarillion:
"But an equally basic passion of mine 'ab initio' [later formed ?] was for myth (not allegory!) and for fairy-story, and above all for heroic legend on the brink of fairy-tale and history, of which there is far to little in the world (accessible to me) for my appetite."
Along with that, I would read any book written with/in the spirit of Tolkien - and similar to the Lord of the Rings. Anything to escape this world when all paths grow dark! I have - also! - began certain books, but they have not grown much.
In response to all the other writers - when you (if you) get your works published, please post their titles (if you like), I'd love to read them! I'm afraid I haven't been able to go find some new ones, yet...
And, also - if anyone has any clue of what the first two lines of the Lothlorien music posted could be - if I got them wrong - please post, I'd like to know.
