The Good Side Has a Ring
Redhorn

What I mean by the title above is...the good forces of Middle Earth have a symbolic "ring" that is greater then that of Saurons. Their "ring" isn't a gold band that dominates; it is freedom and hope. If the good side where to create a "good" ring for their side (and also create their own orcs) then they would become as bad as the dark forces.
Don't you see? The reason Sauron, Saruman,(and even Morgoth) are evil, is because they took what Eru created and mutated it into their own creation. All this talk of the good side "creating" their own orcs and trolls is absurd! It defeats the whole point of them being the good side.
I think I might be having trouble explaining this, but please bear with me. Ok, what are Orcs? Mutated Elves, right? Right. What are Trolls? Mutated Ents, right? Right. What are Uruk Hai? Mutated Orcs and Humans, and finally what are Balrogs and countless other dark demons? Mutated Maiar, right? Of course I'm right,(and if you don't believe me look it up!)
Well to those who say "Why don't the good forces make a ring so they can make their own orcs and trolls?" I say the reason they don't is because they would become just like Sauron if they did. In response you might say "yeah, but humans and elves are good, they wouldn't go bad." Yeah right. One of Tolkien's lessons that he truely believed, was: "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."
Therefore if the good side had that kind of power they would corrupt themselves. And even if they beat Sauron, they would merely take his place as a new evil power and enslave their own creations.
And besides why should the good side make their own version of orcs, when they themselves are the original thing. And another question is how would the good side make their orcs? from captives? Their own kind? See what I mean.
So since this debate is useless(as it opposes Tolkien's very idea of good), lets just pull the plug right here.
I really hope this made sense to you all, because I sometimes have trouble relating my thoughts and ideas. Thank you for baring with me, and till next time, fare thee well!
