Sorry Frodo_lives...
Durin's-bane

Hi, I was just casually reading the forums on the website when I noticed an article by Frodo_lives. I hate to burst your bubble, but the "Scouring of the Shire" is definitely not in the third movie. If you listen to the audio commentary by PJ on the FOTR EE (you may have), PJ specifically says that there will be no Scouring of the Shire. The images in Galadriel's mirror are the only images that make referrence to the Scouring. They merely show what COULD happen if Frodo were to fail. Of course, I would love to see that part of the book on film, but it really does make sense to cut it out. For moviefans that haven't read the books, the destruction of the ring is the climax, so it is understandable, and forgivable in my opinion. I'm just thankful that we get to see such a vivid picture of Middle-Earth on the big screen through these movies, despite the changes to the story.
