I Care, Anteru!!
Lilly
Anteru, looking back at the stuff I missed while on vacation, I noticed your article about the scene you most look forward to. Good choice!
My personal favorite is...well, hard to pick. I'm an emotional person, or rather, I love being swept away in a torrent of emotion (so you can understand my attraction to the LOTR), and I also value friendship, real friendship that is hard to find nowadays. So I do look forward to Frodo's 'death' scene and Sam's pitiful reaction. Have you seen the picture from that scene online? Nearly made me cry just looking at it!! [if you haven't, it should be in the 'images' section of this site]
But I also really do look forward to the scene where Merry and Pippin reunite at Gondor. That line..."Are you going to bury me, Pip?" (also not even a direct quote) tore me up as bad as Sam's "Don't go where I can't follow!" It's hard to choose between them!
And then there's Sam's rescue scene to be thought of! Finding Frodo at the top of the tower....
Now I've gotten myself all worked up! But you get the idea. And now that you've mentioned it, I really look forward to your scene too! Gollum really is an interesting character, and I pity him...although I wasn't sorry to see him go.
I don't let myself get upset by MTV. They're having their fun, and goodness knows even that could have been worse. You don't even have to tax your imagination...
I'll stop.
Very Truly yours.
~Lilly
PS: you're an author, Anteru? I tried, and am trying. It's hard. Good luck with your writing!
