Geography of the Spider's Pass

Hey, welcome back, Lilly! As I recall (I'm lazy and not running upstairs for TTT), after Ringbearer and Co. sneak pass Minas Morgul, they continue on the road to three sets of stairs that lead up the cavernous lair of the Last Daughter of Ungoliant [Shelob]. The door that the Orcs & Frodo take out of Shelob's Lair leads into the the tower of Cirith Ungol (technically, Cirith Ungol is the whole pass into Mordor, not the tower). I don't remember how Samwise gets out of S.L., but somehow he does and he travels along an Orc road until he gets past the freaky statue / warden things via Galadriel's phial.
