'The Ring Will Go to Gondor'
Melkor
Well its Sunday morning and I spent last night watching TTT twice and once more this mornining (the perks of having a friend who works at a video store), I also plodded through all the special features, (which I found to be much shorter than on the first FOTR DVD) and I must say that FOTR is a better movie and it follows the true story closer.
Before I rant about the movie I'll say a few things about the features, well mainly the ROTK preview and TTTEE preview. First off the ROTK preview. It's flat out amazing its 12 minutes and change and it looks mind blowing my typing cannot do it justice. You get to see the entrance to the paths off the dead some shots of Minas Tirith which looks amazing even better than I imagined. When Aragorn Legolas and Gimli are shown at the paths of the dead there are no Dunedain with them. The preview ends with a shot of Gandalf on Shadowfax standing toe to toe with a Nazgul. The EE looks very exciting there lots of good shots of Hurons Merry and Pipin drinking Ent draughts. Plus some shots of Merry and Pipen outside of Isengard rummaging through barrels and other junk. Plus some shots of them smoking Pipe weed with Gimli.
Now for the movie itself, even though its a fun movie and the battle sequence didnt last as long as I thought it had at first I was still somewhat disappointed with the changes. Mainly the big three changes in my mind were the ones done to Faramir Theoden and the whole Elves thing. Theoden's character along with Faramir were butchered. Once Theoden was released from Sauramaun's grasp he went to open war and showed he was stil a bold fearless leader but in the movie he contiued to hide which really disappointed me. Faramir was ruined in fact he wasn't there it was just Boromir #2 and I still cant figure out any reasoning for what was done to him.
Never the less I will still watch the movie numerous times because I am a fan and I love seeing the images and people and sceenary because it is all near perfect..
