Merry Elves, Renting TT, Evenstar's Q
Tinowien

In the matter of serious Elves I agree with them being more serious in LOTR as a result of war and tension, and some very interesting thoughts on being foolish in the face of very serious issues, but I consider the very fact that in LOTR and The Hobbit we meet two different kinds of Elves. Mirkwood Elves may generally be a more light-hearted race. They are also, I believe, mostly Dark Elves so may be quite optimistically different from High Elves. The only Mirkwood elf we meet in LOTR is Legolas, and he is quite lighthearted as it seems to me.

Lilly, I agree with others that after renting Two Towers you might as well have bought the movie, and have it on hand whenever the urge calls. (I find the urge calls about, um, weekly. I'm up to 18 times for FOTR. Hee hee...) And Lilly, I seriously doubt Samwise will push Gollum into Mt. Doom in the movie. But it would be rather amusing. I dislike Jackson's portrayal of hobbits as rather weak and useless, but there you are. (Prime example: Frodo dropping his sword and falling over at Weathertop.)

Evenstar, this is not a normal forum where you reply to a certain article. Thank the Lord, (or the Webmaster), because I cannot stand those kinds of forums. Just write an article about whatever you want to say and to who you'd like to speak to. As I'm doing here.
