On-screen Apology for Osgiliath
tall_hobbit
I know we've all been watching the Two Towers lately... but I did notice a certain line that may have been added as an apology for Sam and Frodo going to Osgiliath - though it also fits into the story, very well. While Sam is doing his [wonderful] speech, he sais something like:
"By right we shouldn't even be here. But we are..."
(Don't trust me word-for-word... my VCR's broken [wail!]) But I just noticed that and thought it was pretty cool, even if it wasn't intended.
ON BALROGS - facts! read - goodness... YES they have wings. I don't know whether they can actually fly or not, but if you look at the opening scene with the balrog and Gandalf falling through the chasm, you can see that there was no room for him to actually stretch his wings (which we saw extended in the Fellowship). Even if he COULD, he would still be falling at a rapid speed and he wouldn't be able to right himself, especially with Gandalf attacking him! That's why he couldn't save himself from falling in the water. The chasm was just too narrow. And THAT'S THAT!
