In response to Grima's Tears, this has been debated before in this forum. I'm simply going to throw in my $0.02

When I first saw the movie, I thought, he's ashamed at what he'd done and that's why he cried. Upon the second viewing, however, I thought as you did, awe at the huge army. However, my little sister probably gave the most likely reason of them all. She noticed that it was one tear. So she said, "He has one tear that's for Eowyn." It makes sense, Saruman says "Leave none alive" and Wormtongue fears that he has doomed the apple of his eye as it were. I'm incined to agree with my sister.(!!!)
But I guess we won't be sure until the DVD commentaries in November.
