The Dualty of Christ in LotR
Chrissy
The matter of LOTR being an allegorical story is a controversial topic right now.
In the Intro of teh Trilogy, He states that it is "neither allegorical or topical", and yet, in his biography, it is said that it was. Which is it. Is it just a work of Science fiction and fantasy, or really an allegorical story.
Tolkien's colleagues say that before Tolkien became a Christian, he was a devout Catholic. LOTR was written before he was converted. So obviously, it was not written allegorically, but after it's publication, Tolkien realized how much it parrelled the Bible. He admitted then that God had used him against his own will, to write soething that could change people's mind about Christianity.
Now what each character repressents can only be guessed aat, but all in all, it is a very Christian work of literature.
