September 22, 2003 The Premature Crowning of Aragorn Bob Praz brought up the possibility (probability based on the evidence?) that Aragorn will be crowned after Gondor and before the march on the Black Gate. I can see why PJ might go that route. The story generally would flow very well, BUT (& there's always a but).... in Tolkien's origional we see Aragorn make specific requests in regard to HOW he is crowned & by WHOM. Frodo's involvement in carrying the Crown to Gandalf who placed it on Aragorn's head was portrayed well in the Book & specifically requested by Aragorn in regognition of Frodo's achievements. Is this to be glossed over... |
