September 27, 2003 Sorry, But I Believe We Are Also Misunderstood Your statements are replete of interesting but not surprising points. I wouldn't drag this forum from a debate on Tolkien's writings and Jackson's adaptation to a debate on the beliefs of Roman Catholicism. To prove our belief that Christ is true God and true Man and his mother Mary is holy and definitely perfect, that we do not worship Mary but venerate her above all of God's creatures, and that despite “Thou shalt not have any other gods before me…. thou shalt not bow down and worship them…” (Exodus 20:3&5), the Israelites worshipped the Ark of the Covenant placed beneath an empty chair flanked by two kneeling angels and that they looked to the bronze serpent, which Moses raised in the desert when they were punished by poisonous snakebites for their wickedness, to be saved, and that the Roman Catholic Church is truly Christian beyond compromise, you can check out many Roman Catholic apologetics websites. I'm sure all of us Roman Catholics here couldn't explain it any better than them.
