Hi Everyone and Christ in Tolkien
Skel

Hello to everyone on the forum. I've been reading articles for a long time (I've read through all the archives since the movie was released). My first introduction to Tolkien was watching the animated movie when I was ten. I eventually got rounf to reading the books (it took me 4 years!) and became a big fan of fantasy literature.
I've been blown away by the new films and look forward to contributing to debate on the forum.
I really to disagree with Chrissy's post. LOTR is not "parallel the Bible". It is a fantasy story based in an amazing wolrd Tolkien created to have cultures for the langauges he had made. It is obvisiously the work of a christian writer with christian values(Catholics ARE christian by the way) but it is not an obivious parallel as the Narnia books were.
