To Spoil Or Not to Spoil (+ a Ps to All)
speedcorn

Hello,

With the Return of the King trailer due out this weekend I thought it would be an ideal time to pose a question regarding spoilers.

When I first heard that the Lord of the Rings movies were being, I made a decision. I decided that I was going to try my best not to see a single trailer, poster, picture or cardboard cutout before the Fellowship of the Ring hit theatres. My thinking was that I wanted to experience the movies the way they were meant to be seen, from opening scene to closing credits without knowing what was coming next. Although it was very difficult and I did catch a few brief glimpses of posters and the opening seconds of a trailer or two, I sat down to watch Fellowship without even knowing what Frodo or Gandalf looked like. It was the greatest movie experience of my life.

Since then I have been visiting sites like this and theOneRing.net to keep up to date with the LOTR news, but I always avoid movie spoilers in all forms. I won't be watching the ROTK trailer this weekend and I think it will let me enjoy the movie that much more when I finally do sit down to see the greatest movie ever in December.

So my question is, what are your thoughts on spoilers? Do they decrease, increase or do nothing to your viewing experience?

Thanks for listening,

Speedcorn

PS: As an athiest I feel it is my duty to settle the ongoing religious debate...YOU'RE ALL WRONG! Ha ha :) Just kidding. But seriously, lighten up. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and, having read every article posted on the subject, Chrissy's opposers have made as many _factual_ errors as Chrissy herself so......no one's perfect ;)
