Concerning Tom Bombadil
Melkor

Who was Tom Bombadil? Well,

"Within the Tolkien household Tom Bombadil was originally a Dutch doll belonging to one of Tolkien's children "

His daughter demanded that the doll was to be include in the narrative, and since he had already wrote a poem called the adventures of Tom Bombadil he simply inserted the character making one small change, A swan feather instead of a Peacock feather in his hat. As for what Bombadil is, only the Professor knows that and he never let that secret out. A lot of people believe he is a nature spirit but no one knows for sure.

As for LOTR being an allegory for its similarities to the bible, well that’s just wrong. Beyond the fact the writer himself said its not an allegory people seem to forget that it is suppose to be a creation myth. That’s where the similarities come from, all Religions have a creation myth, and they all run along the same lines.....
