Re: Foxy and Jarrickon Half-elven
-shieldmaiden-

Foxy, in response to your questions. We Catholics do not believe that all you have to do to be a Christian is to ask God to be your Saviour. Also, no where does it say that you have to believe that to be a Christian. That was an idea that Martin Luther came up with. I might also add that the reason Catholic bibles have more books than others is because Martin Luther cut out the books that did not agree with his teachings of Sola Scriputra and Sola Fide. Yes, we do pray to Mary, but not in the same way we pray to God. Mary is an intercessor between us and God. When a prayer request you pray to Mary or the saints is answered, it is God who answers the prayer, but through Mary or the saints.
Jarrickon, it was the Catholic Church that put the Bible together in the first place. Before there was any other Chrisitan churches, the Catholic Church took all the books and by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, arranged them in the Bible. This was long before Martin Luther. You can look in the above paragraph where I said more about this. If you don't believe me, look it up. It's history, it happened whether you like it or not.
Sorry for the length of the post. I think we should drop this discussion since it is LotR we are suppossed to be talking about here. To get off the religion topic... isn't the new RotK trailer great?!?!?! I watched it like 10 times last night!! This is going to be the best film of the three, I think. Except that it doesn't have Boromir:-(. ;-) Westu-hal.
