Elves and Birth

First of all, i have to agree with Tinowien that we need to stop talking about religion. its a touchy subject and, like Tinowien, i feel we need to talk more about Tolkien.
I dont know if this excellent of all forums has discussed elves at birth. If it has not, here is my question. How does this happen? I dont mean to be somewhat gross(if thats what you want to call it) but i was thinking. If elves dont age, how are they born and seem as adults? Is there rapid growth, or normal growth and then it just stops, or what? I know it doesnt really matter. Elves are elves after all, but it just seems kind of puzzling as i cannot find no such information from Tolkien about this subject. Does anyone of you know?
