Elvish Life History
Niphredil

Strider, Elves have kids the same way that ‘Men’ do (obviously I mean the race of Men, we women actually do all the hard work). Elvish kids look like mortal kids for the first few years of their lives but then they appear to age more slowly. By the time a mortal child is fully grown, an Elvish child of the same age still looks about seven years old. Elves don’t reach adulthood before 50 but they can keep growing until they are about 100. Once they turn 50, they can start having kids. If you are really interested in this stuff, then maybe you should get a copy of Volume 10 of the History of Middle Earth by Christopher Tolkien. It’s called, Morgoth’s Ring and has a chapter entitled “Laws and Customs Among the Eldar”. That’s where I got this info from.
