They're not referring to a real scene when they ask Kiran (is that how you spelled it? I've not a clue...) if he would mind being set on fire.

They were just demonstrating for us his loyalty to his job. They were probably giving him a list of crazy scenarios, seeing where he would draw the line. What if they set him on fire, would he still be dedicated enough to the film. Why, yes, should that occasion arise, he would be happy to.

That's my take on it, anyway. Fear not! We won't be toasting any hobbits this year!
