Academy Award
Galadriel

Sorry, Frodo_Lives, but I don't have a very high opinion of the Academy Award judges. I hated the movie "Chicago" and that won for best picture! UGH! And "The Hours" actors won big. Again, UGH! Unless a movie has some "politically correct" grand message or theme or has actors in it they already worship, it seems that they hardly pay any attention to it. Do they ever notice or care what the fans think? How about the legions of people who adore these films and have been SO well entertained by them! So many in Hollywood have such a "big head" lately. They think they have to be so political, so "important" with their films all the time. Have they forgotten that they are ENTERTAINERS?? What about the value of a film that is just an absolute JOY for the viewer. A film that brings a beloved book to life! A film, so painstakingly detailed and well done that it puts the viewer right into the setting. I "go" to Middle Earth every time that I watch LOTR and I go through such a WIDE range of emotions as well. THAT is what incredible acting and directing will do! I don't think you can find a better cast than that of LOTR! Each actor is so fanastic in their own right it's amazing. Such wonderfully developed characters have been SO well portrayed! And Peter Jackson is such an amazing visionary, leader, and motivator that there are few, if any, directors as skilled as he is! LOTR should have already won so many more awards than it has. I almost think that the actors are TOO good. Perhaps, they become their characters SO well that the judges forgot that they were acting! ;)
I really hope that ROTK does win for best picture but I'm a pessimist when it comes to the Oscars. They just don't usually know a GREAT movie when they see it!
