General Audiences Will Be Cheated
Joel

I never thought I would register, despite reading the posts frequently but after reading some disturbing news from theonering.net and seeing no posts directed upon it I had to voice an opinion that I know few will disagree with. First of all what I will say might spoil the ROTK and for those you do not like spoilers dont read any further. However, I think news like this should be known before hand. I read that New Line, in one of the most ridicolous discisions ever, has decide to cut Suraman out of the ROTK. Yes for pacing purposes Suraman's confrontation will be left for the extended version. First of all you leave the general audience wondering what happend to the most visible villain in the movie. Not to mention that this scene is one of the best character devloping scenes in the book. The depth of Gandalf is portrayed and his wisdom to stray from justifiable wrath reveals the true seperation of good and evil. It also shows that Gandalf follows his own advice, refering to the quote that he gives to frodo about dealing out death and judgement. Also how will pippin learn of the palantir and desire to see it more than anyone else. Movies should not be all about pacing, as if people are not going to see it again and again just because it might start off slow. Patience is a virtue that few bestow, and mine is waning with such descisions made by New Line Executives. At least PJ has not sold out but he can only do so much.
