To cut Saruman out of the movie is an awful move. It would destroy the intergrity of the movie. It sets up both Gnadalf's and Saruman's characters, the getting of the palentir, and Pip's curosity and then his heroics. It would be a travesty to delete Saruman's scenes from the movie. I have to admit I was looking forward to seeing Saruman's staff broken and his wizardary taken. UGH! I wonder, besides in the extended version if Saruman is in the movie at all. Without the Gandalf confrontation and the scouring of the shire I cannot remind anyother scenes with Saruman in them. Is there any? Well back to reading Shakespeare's Macbeth and Swift's A Modest Proposal.
