TTT EE and Other Stuff
Eric the Brown

I have been out of town on business for the last few days so I haven't been able to watch the TTT EE yet. Now I have to wait until my kids get home from school to watch it as I promised them I would wait, ouch. However I have watched a couple of the special features and enjoyed them immensely especially the one about adapting the book to film. There are a lot of challenges of bringing a book to film and to hear their reasoning was interesting. Unlike a lot of people I had no problem with the Faramir changes because I had always disliked that part in the book where Faramir seems to be the only human who cannot be tempted by the ring at all, which seemed inconsistent to what Tolkien had written up to that point. Also in the movie they had strongly established the ring as a sentient seducer that could corrupt even the purest human heart so again it would have gone against everything they had established if Faramir wasn't somewhat seduced by the ring.

I don't have any issue with the Lennox song as the words were wonderful and I think the melody will grow on you. Also on one post someone seemed upset that there was a guitar in it. Is that because it was the only instrument or because you feel the guitar isn't an appropriate instrument for the feel of the move? I loved Enya and hated the Gollum song. The music overall has been tremendous.

Like many of you I am counting down the days and wishing they would go by faster, I cannot wait until ROTK comes out!! Although I will be watching TTT EE tonight and hopefully that will give me the strength to make it until the 17th.
