The Downtrodden
Annatar

Someone commented that Gollum was badly mistreated by the Rangers and Faramir, in all fairness they are not running a playschool, they are fighting a war. Some people need a good clip to get the point across, Faramir saw Gollum as a being filled with malice, he could hardly sit him down and ask him nicely to please please not hurt/betray the Hobbits.

TTT:EE was better than the original, my favourite addition being that of the Boromir flashback. Denethor comes across as a really hateful father. A character I think that will be excellently portrayed in the forthcoming movie. I had years ago nurtured the hope that Donald Sutherland would have played the part, but I feel assured the part is in capable hands. Aragorns "death scene" will always grate on me I think. The addition to Gimli/Legolas score keeping was class.

Anyone else notice how in the books certain events are mirrored by several characters. One that springs to mind is Gollum/Grima. Both cause the downfall of a great being, both are Downtrodden figures and both die as a result. I am sure there are many more likenesses between the two. Just an observation I wanted to share.

Anyways, not long now to go. Hopefully any major changes PJ makes will be kept to the end. Like I mentioned before, would it not be a great major twist if Sauron the Merciful won?? All the Hobbits working merrily in Mordor slave pits... Aragorn cleaning out the Orc latrines... and as for the Evil Elves... *manic evil laugh*
Ahh *wipes away a tear* Alas we are not so lucky, but one can dream one can.
Until later my friends, be safe and be happy... until the shadow falls and the Nine rule under the Master :) Ash Nazg...
