Regarding the New RotK Clip
-

Well finally, after reading many informed, intense, and insightful posts regarding all things LOTR, i have found the effort to register myself and be a part of it all. So HELLO ALL! :)

Pip, i have just watched the clip from Yahoo, with sound - and no-one really said anything, there was just a whole lot of painful moaning sounds (nothing suss) and Gandalfs' characteristic "fool of a Took!" remark. Obviously the Palantir was working its dark mojo according to PJ's vision. Thats about all i can make from it.

Now i would briefly like to address some older topics, if thats ok.

Regarding Dior and his immortality/mortality, my guess is that he had a choice also, but seeing as he was a special boy with the blood of three races in his veins, and was obviously ruling doriath after his father Thingol until his murder, he most probably chose immortality.
I'd like to add that the Silmarillion is defintely my favourite of all Tolkien's works.

Also, my choice of race would be the elves, and my favourite character is Legolas (nothing to do with his killer hotness of course...lol). I love their wisdom, agility, speech, and love of all things beautiful.

Another point I would like to make is that I am a huge fan of PJ's representation of Arwen, not to mention being a fan of the stunning Liv Tyler. I have been surprised to read that not many fans support her - I mean, whats an epic tale without a great love story? - Although when it comes to Arwen and Aragorn, I happen to be a hopeless romantic. Please forgive me. :) Not to say that I dislike Eowyn. In fact its the opposite.

After watching 'From book to script' on the TTT EE, I have come to understand many of the pacing and character decisions made by PJ, Phillipa Boyens etc. I would recommend anyone unhappy with these changes to watch it, I certainly found it helpful - although it doesn't answer all questions, it certainly answers some.

Lastly, I would like to comment on a post (made by Danny I think?) regarding a wish to make the Silmarillion themselves, and in a style like that of Final Fantasy. I think that it is a really commendable dream, and having watched FF quite a few times, i think it would be a really interesting format to see the Silmarillion be bought to life in. Good Luck, I'm sure your not crazy.

Thankyou to anyone who has read to the end. I promise not to make further posts so long if I can.

(who has to wait until ROTK is released on Boxing Day in Australia. Feel my pain ;))
