The Ring: Idril
Annatar

Idril, you asked as to other powers the Ring has. The major one being the power to exert control over others, especially those of "evil" origin. As Isildurs son, Elendur said to him on the night of his death, "what of the power that cow these foul creatures and command them to obey you? Is it then of no avail?" but as Isildur replied he had not the strength to bend it to his will. For one fraction of a moment Frodo gained control of this power, just before it consumed him totally. The power of the Ring was that of pure power of will. Using such power a Ringlord could control other Ringbearers, overwhelm others who strove with them face to face with words/songs of power (Felagund broken by the Will of Sauron. This Will became instilled in the Ring). However, only those with great power already could ever hope to control the Ring, all the rest are consumed. Only a being (i.e. A Vala) far greater than Sauron in the beginning could control the Ring and not be effected by its "evil". For as we all know Sauron was the greatest of the Maia (hehehe that should spur a response from the pro-Eonwe lobby). Perhaps, also contained in the Ring are the skills possessed by Sauron in the beginning, Craftwork etc (him being a Maia of Aule), but this is just guesswork.

Anyways Until later, and I finish remaking the Ring (I just have to do a little fiery engraving and it will be done) :) Ash Nazg...
