Tolkienian Tongues
Jarrickon Half-elven

Oh, before I forget: Lannor, I don't know what you're talking about; there hasn't been a post for at least a month talking about the Christianity of Tolkien or The Lord of the Rings. Although you are right and LotR doesn't have specifically Christian *elements* in it, it most certainly has Christian *principles*. After all, from the mouth of Tolkien himself, ". . .The Lord of the Rings is chiefly a Catholic work."

Smack, Quenya was the chief language of Valinor in general and the Noldor in particular. Sindarin was the language of the Grey Elves (Sindar) in Beleriand. When the Noldor arrived in Beleriand, and King Elu Thingol found out about the First Kinslaying at Alqualondë, the tongue of Quenya was forbidden in his realm and fell into near dissuse, being employed in the Third Age mainly for verse and ceremony.

Bob, Stuart Townsend was originally cast as Aragorn before the writers realized that he was too young and cast Viggo Mortensen (Note: Townsend knew he was too young when he took the job, and thought the role should be given to someone older).

Namárië!
