To Bill F and Smack
Lannor

Look guys, im assuming u 2 are guys, sorry if you're not, im sorry if i have offended either of you. What i basically meant about what i wrote was that to label the book christian would be incorrect.(it has been labelled christian/catholic in various religious magazines). When you put a specific name to something as great as LOTR it just holds back all that it can be and is. like i said befor, just because the writer is religious does not mean the book is. Sure he could of put some spiritual things in the book that were personal to him but that does not mean it should be to the rest of the world. And like Bill said, interperet the book as you will but what im saying is just dont stick on labels. for different people the book has different meanings and those meanings are often personal so why take away that feeling and tell people what it is and thats how it is. you could link the book to many religions, practices and even science but i think it should be left as a link and not a set description.
Oh and i wasn't responding to any article in the debate forum it was just my thoughts on what some religious magazines said. i guess i should have put that in the first post but like i said i'm new at this. thanx a bunch
bye
