The Shire

I am reading the Scouring of the Shire chapter, and I somewhat miss seeing it in the movie. the growth of the Pippin, Merry, and Sam is very nice shown. As Gandalf says "You must settle its (the shire) affairs for yourselves; that is what you have been trained for....you will need no help. You are grown up now. Grown indeed very high; among the great you are, adn i have no longer any fear at all for any of you." ROTK page 2998. But I like the returning to the shire, and then coming in on horses in the forgien clothes and that hobbit frowning at them. I loved it. One cannot have it all to one's liking without doing it oneself, and I am very pleased and satified with ROTK. I cannot wait to go see it again, and buy it on VHS and the extended version as well.
