It Is a Sad Sad Day When...

It is indeed a sad sad day when allies cannot disagree with each other with out it degrading into a insult frenzy. What am I talking about?!? I refer to the links in the Latest News section (worldnetdaily and littlegreenfootballs especially). Most of the world disagreed with the US and certain actions it took, while I myself lean towards a No-war stance I'm hardly gonna say the US is evil or equates to Mordor (or any other such drivel like was stated in the links, but pertaining to France, Germany etc). LOTR was Good versus Evil, the world we live in is never so clear cut. There are no good guys in white hats, nor are there evil villains wearing black. All on this planet, them, you, me, are shades of grey. All the reasons for the US doing what they did are hardly honest and good, some were, some were not. The reasons France n Co disagreed with the US were the same, a mix of good and bad. It just angers me to think that people can so easily forget the past, how certain countries helped each other, France helped the US and the US helped France, at various times in the past (The Statue of Liberty a symbol of that friendship) (of course a cynical man would also point out in the past the US and Britain supported Saddams Iraq with weapons in the war with Iran, funny how things change and are swiftly forgotten). While Iraq is better off without Saddam in charge, it was the manner in which it was done that insulted so many around the world (I dont mean the execution of the war but the lead up to it). Perhaps the media in the US sheds a very evil eye on all things foreign that do not agree with the White House, and so, taints what is really happening. On this side of the Atlantic we caught the brunt of either you help us and support us or we will financially destroy you. Ireland, a Neutral state, ended up facillitating troop movements because of this, thereby in breach of her Neutrality. The same was tried with France and Germany, but failed, because they are alot stronger than little Eire. A more softly softly approach could have seen all NATO behind the US, shoulder to shoulder. But I digress. US, France, Germany, Russia, China and the entire Muslim world are not evil nor should any such dispersions be made. Oh and neither is the United Nations, the amount of good work that agency does around the world is mind boggling. So please ignore the tripe that can be seen in those articles, statistics that prove nothing and everything, with a nice bit of name calling to top it all off with.

Sorry my friends for the length of this. Just I hate to see friends fighting, be they individual people or countries. Trust the future to God, for Christian, Jewish or Muslim, we all have Abraham for our father. Shalom aleichem, Salaam aleikum, Peace be with you all this Holy season.
