To Melkor
Mr. Underhill
Well Melkor, it seems that you really hated the last installment of LOTR. I realize that I will not be able to change your opinion and I am disappointed that some people did not enjoy the film as much as I did. Actually, it is out of curiousity that I am writing this article.
A film review website that I frequent had the same gripes about the movie. No story, no dialogue, and eye candy. I am slightly befuddled, because I thought that the story was rather beautifully portrayed. Maybe I'm just an inane teenager like the rest, but I have read the books several times. True, there were some Hollywood cliches and dramatic additions, like Frodo fighting Gollum at the End, and Frodo telling Sam to leave. However, I thought that PJ did a fine job telling the story and there was plenty of effective and touching dialogue in the movie, and much of it was from Tolkien.
Could you elaborate a bit more on which scenes needed more dialogue, and how the story could have been better portrayed? I am highly curious, and if you could indulge me here I would very much appreciate it. Thank you.
Underhill... my name's Underhill
