To - About My Namesake
Tuor

Maybe we should start calling you "hyphen." Ha. I also felt Frodo was trying to get the ring back, not trying to destroy it, and he and Gollum both fell during their fight. Anyway, my username being Tuor, I can't resist fielding this question. As far as I tell, Tuor is allowed to sail into the west
A) because of his deeds
B) because Ulmo, the ocean Ainu, was acting through him
C) because he effectively was an elf, being raised by them, leading them, and marrying them, besides the fact that he was mortal.

Oh, and yes, Gandalf's Glamdring is the same as Turgon's Glamdring. I actually wondered this same thing not too long ago. In the Hobbit, while they are at Rivendell, Elrond tells them "These are old swords of the High Elves...made in Gondolin for the goblin-wars...This, Gandalf, was Glamdring, Foehammer that the king of Gondolin (who was Turgon) once wore."
