Saruman & the Istari
hamfast68

Saruman was an Istari. Which were five or possibly more beings that were sent to Middle Earth by the Valar, who were angelic spirits. Their job was to unite and counsel the free peoples in their struggles against Sauron. They were forbidden to dominate the peoples of Middle Earth or to match Sauron's power with power. Saruman disobeyed that injunction. they were ranked by color, white being the highest. After Gandalf was sent back as Gandalf the White, he was was Gandalf the Grey, one of his jobs was to cast Saruman from the order of the Istari, and strip him of his power.
