I also think Gollum would die with the ring's demise, mostly because he would probably dive in after it. Not to mention that he was so old and severely malnourished, he would probably die very soon after the ring was destroyed anyway. And if the ring hadn't been destroyed, he still would have died due to the fact Frodo put on the ring, alerting Sauron and the Ringwraiths. Gollum was pretty much screwed after that point.
