I think it was kind of both: on one hand, Frodo wanted nothing but the ring back and safely around his neck, on the other, he didn't want to let Sam bear that burden any longer...It already had a hold on him from the short time he had carried it 'for safe keeping'.

And Sam was worried about giving this dreadful burden that he now understood was really awful back to his already very worn and tired master...but on the other hand, it had a strange alure, that pretty little thing.......

AACK!! Can't WAIT for EE DVD!!!

Heard an awful rumor!! If PJ doesn't get the DVD done by the deadline, we may have to wait another TWO YEARS TO GET IT!! Pray for speed!
