January 17, 2004 It is Me I have to say I do not know who my favorite character is. I can tell you who I dislike, but that does not take them out of the running. I think, if I were male, it would have been great fun to play Saruman. I like Eomer, and Eowyn, and Rose Cotton, and Samwise, and Treebeard, and King Theoden. The only person that would not qualify would be Denothor, and it is a personal reason, he is a bad father. I was cleaning my bedroom when I found my notes for Fellowship of the Ring from my class and I began reading them. One of my notes states that Tolkien's daughter had a doll with blue eyes, a red face and a brown beard. He wore a blue coat, a tall battered hat with a blue feather, and yellow boots. My notes continued to say that in one of the letters (I think the word was not well written) Tolkien wrote said that he did not know where Tom came from but the idea came from a story he was telling his daughter about her doll. So I am throwing that out there into the space. I read another one of Tolkein's stories told for his children called Roverdom. It was good, not as good as LOTR's but good. Tolkien is a well-written author, my editor told me with my last story he sees some of Tolkien's influence appearing in my story-teling. I hope that is a good thing.
