Clarification on Grey Havens and the Departure
Lilly

I need to clarify something about the journey to Valinor.

They go first to the Grey Havens, which is just like Rivendell and Lorien, in that it is an Elven home that is IN MIDDLE EARTH.

Right?

And it is TOTALLY POSSIBLE TO LEAVE THE HAVENS AT ANY TIME, right? It is NOT the point of no return for departing elves/ringbearers, correct?

And when they sail over the sea, they go off the edge of the world into Valinor, am I right? No pit stops, and NO RETURNING?

I get the Havens and Valinor messed up in my mind. THE HAVENS AREN'T ON AN ISLAND, ARE THEY?

confusedly yours.
