Witch King His Equal

Eey,

I've been reading this Forum from almost the beginning but I never posted.
I am a huge fan of the books and the movies. An I read almost everything there is to read about Tolkien and his Middle earth.

But now to my subject, I am not sure that Gandalf would be the winner of the confrontation with the witch king. In chapter 4 of "The return of the king" Gandalf tells denethor that while he was helping te defend the wall of the pellenor Angmar arrived. Denethor replies that "Than Mithrandir, you had an equal opponent" Gandalf replies "perhaps"

Although Gandalf is in fact a maiar spirit, he lost a great deal of his power when he came to middle earth. He had to suffer the weaknesses of a mortal body..... si I think the witchking most definitly had a good chance...
