Tomatoes, Etc.
Everett

Where to begin? A number of people have replied to my latest post, but strangely, I didn't get quite the response I wanted. Danny, I appreciate your reply.* It was most courteous. However, I should probably explain the rotten tomato reference somewhat.

Every fall, the men of University Christian Outreach (UCO) in Ann Arbor and Lansing, Michigan get together in Chelsea, Michigan for a Tomato War to kick off our annual Men's Retreat. We pick teams, go out into the woods and throw rotten tomatoes at each other. It's dark and messy, and a great time is had by all. So, I was ducking, not because I was afraid of getting thrashed, but because I was planning to get up and fire my rotten tomatoes right back. Still, Danny, your courtesy is appreciated. I just wish that sometimes, when I take my shots, someone will fire back. It's great fun as long as it doesn't get too personal.

Kat, I'm glad you enjoy reading my articles, and I appreciate the compliment. I enjoy posting them, and I wish you had responded to my UN article. If you, or anyone else for that matter, would like to respond to my blurb about the UN (01/02/04: I Love It When things Turn Political) by all means do so. I haven't had a good debate about the UN in a long time. If you don't want to use the space in the Forum, you can always drop me an e-mail, either at vandagri@msu.edu or Hurin_Thalion13@hotmail.com.

I'll close by offering a sentiment which I offered last time: At least Peter Jackson's version was better than Bakshi's.

Happy tomato flinging.

*I would also add that, in addition to what kind of a fan you are, your reaction to the movies also depends on your personality.
