Glamdring and Sort of Politics
Tuor
I do know Gamdring is supposed to glow. What I meant was if there's a possibility that goblins and orcs are in fact different creatures, that it would be an excuse for the sword not glowing in the movie. Though I read the parts in LOTR where Gandalf would be fighting orcs, and the only time it mentions Glamdring glowing at all is in FOTR, on my page 371, when Gandalf fights the Balrog and it says, "From out of the shadow a red sword leapt flaming. Glamdring glittered white in answer."
I personally have no objections to continuing the political discussions here, as long as we mix in some LOTR and it doesn't get explosive. I think it's important for everyone, readers and authors alike, to remember that it is very difficult to convey your feelings through this format of discussion. You could be writing something sarcastically, or just in fun (Everett) and someone who reads it might think you're actually angry at them or serious about nuking their country. To RaggedyAnndy: about the freedom fries thing, the point I was making was that particular phrase had never caught on here, or at least nowhere near my residence; up to that last comment, I understood exactly what you meant. Your points were perfectly valid and you certainly don't have to agree with anyone here [they have wings]. As said before, I think Bush is a better foreign diplomat than a domestic leader. Well, I'm going to submit before my computer craps out again.
