D: Denethor's Pyre

D: Denethor's Pyre. (Yes this could be under P, but who cares?)

Anyway. Why, oh why did Shadowfax knock Denethor onto the pyre? Why oh why did Denethor run an impossibly long distance while burning? (Stop, drop, and roll, man!) Why, oh why did PJ and co. take away the Palantir? Why did Denethor jump off of Minas Tirith?

Just a few nitpicks here. This was one of two scenes in ROTK that really bothered me. (The other being the "Go home" scene.) Way back when, I was unsure about seeing the films until I read this chapter. I waited for three years to see this scene, and they butchered it. As one of my friends, who is a big fan of both the books and the movies, so succinctly put it, "I laughed."

They took one of the most poignant moments in ROTK, and made it laughable. Ugh!
