I'm Sick of Elendur
Mr. Blonde

I have read The Lord of the Rings more times then I can count, I love the books and have ever since I finished Fellowship for the first time when I was 18. I love the movies and I don't mind people discussing their nitpicks with them in regards to differences between the films and the books, but if there is one thing I can't stand it's supposed "purists", which by the way that word instantly makes me sick whenever I hear it or read it these days, anyway it's when supposed purists whine "oh Faramir wasn't the same as the books, my childhood has been torn from my soul" or, "oh my God why were the elves at helms deep? Why? Tolkien must be spinning in his grave, I must pierce my eyes lest they be subject to such barbaric images again" You people, and I'm talking specifically to Elendur who has poisoned these message boards so much recently with his "Where was Faramir captain of Gondor..." crap. The thing is I like the movie Faramir, he's a real person, he gets tempted like everyone else that comes in contact with the ring, except of course for you know who, he's not above Gandalf, who if you remember is tempted to take the ring, yes that's right Gandalf, the second most powerful being in all of middle earth, although to be fair he was Gandalf the Grey at the time so maybe that was it. My point is The Lord of the Rings that Tolkien wrote and The Lord of the Rings that Peter Jackson brought to us are not identicle. They both have thier flaws and shortcommings, but in the end they are what they are, fantastic escapes into a world we could only dream of until we were allowed to enter it and I won't have anymore bashing of the movie by wormto....er I mean Elendur, who in case you guys havn't noticed can easily type passages from the book right onto the computer screen, he really is quite talented. Oh, and this is my first post but it won't be my last.
