It took a while, but I'm finally getting the sort of response I expected, and a chance to repeat something I've said several times: I LOVE the movies, but I don't think they're above being criticized. They are movies of The Lord of the Rings, so we compare them to The Lord of the Rings, and debate how good an adaptation they are. All movies have flaws; these movies just have flaws which are more worth talking about BECAUSE the movies are good. You don't see anyone typing long posts about the animated LOTR.
