Fav Tolkien Book & Beorn
Jevic of Highgate

Well my personal favorite Tolkien book has to be The Silmarillion. Although I abosolutely fell in love with The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings (On several occasions I dreamed about the Hobbits and the Elves). The Silmarillion I simply couldnt put down. I was like the Bible of Middle Earth, I loved all the history stuffed into that book. Though it is much harder to read than any of the others (especially for me being a some what slow reader) I admired Feanor and nearly cryed when he and the Noldor left Valinor and then the tragedy of the Kins Slaying!

But concerning Beorn. I have to admit its been a year or two since I re read the Hobbit. So I was thinking about it and I thought that Beorn might have been just another one of the Maiar. But I didnt want to sound like a fool so I went to (sorry you guys) my FAVORITE Tolkien website The Encyclopedia of Arda.
I have learned so much over the past few months with both this and that site.
But anyway they said that in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien, Tolkien makes it clear that Beorn's lifespan was no greater than that of an ordinary man, he also explained that despite his remarkable abilities, Beorn definitely belonged to the race of men. 'Though a skin-changer and no doubt a bit of a magician, Beorn was a Man'.

PS- Hmmm I dunno, just trying to get people away from arguing about the diffrences between the movies and books. So above I mentioned that I had several dreams about LotR, although I dont put much credit to dreams, I have used them in several of my writings. And some are pretty wild to begin with. So I would love to hear from some of you people much more creative minds that me. I wonder what your subconcious has conjured up? So tell me your dreams, that is if you've had any that has anything to do with Tolkien.
