M: Morannon
Elendur

"Little time was left to Aragorn for the ordering of the battle. Upon the one hill he stood with Gandalf, and there fair and desperate was raised the banner of the Tree and Stars. Upon the other hill hard by stood the banners of Rohan and Dol Amroth, White Horse and Silver Swan. And about each hill a ring was made facing all ways, bristling with spear and sword."

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHH!!!

Am I the only one here who would pay to see that??? I doubt it. Instead Aragorn leads a charge that would destroy his army in a heartbeat! WHY(do they keep making me type WHY in all caps) do they change the climax for the WORSE? The whole point of the battle is to last out until the Ring is destroyed.

There's(at least) one other problem. Gimli says "What are we waiting for" and they don't. They don't wait. They finish the Pelennor in the morning and head to the Morannon in time for supper. I don't want to listen to any more Philipa Boyens "We don't KNOW they didn't go in the Old Forest. We don't KNOW they didn't meet Tom Bombadil." I can see her now: "We don't KNOW they didn't stay a while at Minas Tirith." Yeah, right.

Strange enough, the only part of that battle that I did like was Aragorn's "not from the book" speech.

"when the Age of Men comes crrrrrashing down"

Y' gotta love it. To bad the battle couldn't equal the speech.

PS- To Finrod: Interesting thoughts on Beorn(and welcome to the forum).
